Ronaldo travelled Lapland with family
Cristiano Ronaldo took advantage of the Saudi Pro League's winter break by enjoying a family vacation in Lapland. At 39 years old, the Portuguese star has maintained an impressive performance this season, scoring 16 goals in 19 matches for Al-Nassr. However, the season has been challenging for the Saudi team, managed by former AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli, as they currently sit fourth in the SPL, trailing leaders Al-Ittihad by 11 points. With a mid-season break in effect, Al-Nassr will not resume play until January 9. During this time off, Ronaldo decided to travel to Lapland with his family.
This northern region of Finland is famous for its ski resorts, the Northern Lights, and is often regarded as the official home of Santa Claus.Although Ronaldo refrained from skiing—an activity typically prohibited for footballers due to injury risks—he shared several social media posts from the trip, including one where he posed in the snow wearing only shorts, showcasing his impressive physique. He captioned the cheerful photo: "Merry Christmas, everyone."
Ronaldo was accompanied by his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children, making the most of their holiday.
They visited Santa Claus and engaged in various snowy activities, including what appeared to be Ronaldo riding a ski-doo. However, he avoided participating in skiing, as players' contracts usually restrict them from extreme sports to prevent injuries, while his family enjoyed the winter sport. This trip marked a significant contrast to their typical life in Riyadh, where December temperatures average around 17 degrees Celsius. In contrast, Lapland experiences winter temperatures ranging from minus 16 degrees to three degrees.
