While this description captures a common understanding, it is somewhat restrictive. For instance, the stipulation that everything must be provided "as a service over the internet" may seem appealing at first glance; however, it overlooks the reality that many applications require private usage that is not internet-based.

It is essential to facilitate access to a shared or collective array of configurable computing resources, including network devices, servers, storage solutions, applications, and other necessary services.
